Our producers – passionate people behind every bottle

Behind every bottle of wine at Nexuswine are people, not machines. Our producers are small, passionate winegrowers primarily from the areas around Catalonia – from the wild mountains of Priorat and Montsant to the sunny fields of Penedès and Terra Alta. Here they work in harmony with nature, often organically or biodynamically, and with a deep respect for the history and grape varieties of the area.

These are families who have looked after the same vineyards for generations, and young winemakers who, with curiosity and courage, are breaking new ground – but always with quality and authenticity as their goal. They use their hands more than machines, and each wine is an honest expression of the place it comes from.

We visit them ourselves, taste directly from the tanks, walk in the fields and listen to their stories. That's why we know that every wine in our range is created with care, craftsmanship and love.

Rimarts Cava – uncompromising cava from the heart of Penedès

In the midst of the rolling countryside of Penedès, the cradle of cava just outside Barcelona, you will find Rimarts – a small, family-owned cava producer where tradition and craftsmanship go hand in hand. Here, brothers Ricard and Ernest Martínez work with a deep respect for their father’s life’s work and an uncompromising approach to quality.

Rimarts makes cava the way it was made before automation took over – by hand and with time as the most important ingredient. The second fermentation naturally takes place in the bottle, and each bottle is disgorged manually, one at a time. It’s a slow and demanding process, but that’s exactly what gives Rimarts cava its special finesse, crispness and personality.

Their wines are dry, elegant and often aged significantly longer than the standard. This gives them a complexity reminiscent of Champagne, but with the sunny expression and natural energy that Penedès and the local grapes – Xarel lo, Macabeu and Parellada – are known for. They also experiment with Chardonnay and Pinot Noir in selected cuvées, managing to create cava with both depth and lightness.

Rimarts is not a large producer, but that is precisely their strength. Everything is made in small batches with a focus on precision and authenticity. When you choose a bottle from Rimarts, you are not just supporting a family business – you are getting a wine with history, soul and craftsmanship in every bubble.

Acústic Celler – Honest wines from the Catalan wine landscape

Albert Jané is the man behind Acústic Celler – a passionate winemaker with deep roots in Penedès and a burning desire to preserve and reinterpret the local grape varieties and old vines of Catalonia’s mountainous terroir. His philosophy is simple: to make wine like you make acoustic music – without artificial amplifiers, focusing on the natural expression, the voice of the terroir and the inner nerve of the wine. Albert is today behind three wineries, each of which tells its own story:

  • Acústic Celler in Montsant, where old vines of Garnatxa and Samsó grow on slate and calcareous soils and produce wines with depth, structure and intensity.
  • Autocton Celler in Baix Penedès, where Albert has rediscovered ancient white wine grapes such as Xarel·lo and Malvasia de Sitges – and creates elegant, mineral and authentic white wines.
  • Ritme Celler in Priorat, where steep slopes and slate soil (llicorella) form the framework for powerful, complex red wines with raw energy and great aging potential.

    Common to all three projects is Albert's uncompromising approach to the craft: organic methods in the field, spontaneous fermentation, low sulfur, minimal intervention and great respect for the special expression of each vineyard.

    At Nexuswine, we have followed Albert’s work closely – from cellars to vineyards – and we are proud to share the wines from his three wineries. They are more than just wine; they are stories in liquid form – about place, tradition and human dedication.

Cellers Avgvstvs Forvm – Tradition og innovation fra Middelhavets kyst

Lige uden for den charmerende by El Vendrell i det sydlige Penedès, tæt ved Middelhavets brise og med udsigt til den antikke romerske handelsvej Via Augusta, ligger Cellers Avgvstvs Forvm – en familieejet vingård med en unik kombination af historie, kvalitet og innovation.

Her forenes generationers kærlighed til vin med et moderne blik for både elegance og bæredygtighed. Det hele begyndte i 1980’erne, hvor familien Roca grundlagde vingården med ambitionen om at producere friske og karakterfulde vine fra egne marker – og senere også den verdenskendte Forvm-eddike, som i dag anvendes på Michelin-restauranter verden over.

I vinproduktionen arbejder Avgvstvs med både lokale og internationale druesorter som Xarel·lo, Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon og Merlot – og skaber rene, vellavede vine med tydeligt middelhavspræg. Jordbunden af kalk og sten, kombineret med havets kølende indflydelse, giver vinene en naturlig friskhed, kompleksitet og balance.

Men Avgvstvs Forvm er mere end bare vin. Det er også historiefortælling, gastronomisk kultur og dedikation til langsigtet kvalitet. Der arbejdes bæredygtigt og med stor respekt for naturen – og det mærkes i både vin og eddike. Særligt Forvm-eddiken, lavet på naturlig reduktion af egne druer og lagret på egetræ, har opnået international anerkendelse og leverer en unik, kompleks smag, som har gjort den elsket af kokke og madelskere i hele verden

Celler Xavier Clua – Vin med dybe rødder i Terra Altas vindblæste landskab

I det sydligste hjørne af Catalonien, tæt på grænsen til Aragonien og omgivet af bakker, pinjetræer og olivenlunde, finder man Terra Alta – et af Spaniens mest undervurderede vinområder. Her, i landsbyen Vilalba dels Arcs, har Celler Xavier Clua hjemme. En familieejet vingård, hvor vinmager og agronom Xavier Clua skaber intense, karakterfulde vine, der afspejler områdets barske skønhed og gamle vintraditioner.

Familien Clua har dyrket vin i generationer, men det var Xavier, der i 1995 tog skridtet videre og begyndte at flaske under eget navn. Med dyb faglighed, stor teknisk kunnen og en klar vision har han skabt en portefølje af vine, som forener tradition og modernitet på fornem vis.

I markerne dyrkes lokale sorter som Garnatxa Blanca, Garnatxa Negra og Carinyena, men også Syrah og Cabernet Sauvignon, alt sammen under indflydelse af regionens særlige klima – varme dage, kølige nætter og den konstante cerç-vind, som holder druerne sunde og giver vinene nerve og friskhed. Jordbunden er mager, kalkholdig og stenet, hvilket tvinger vinstokkene til at grave dybt – og det kan smages i vinens intensitet og mineralitet.

Stilen hos Xavier Clua er ren og præcis: frugtig men aldrig overmoden, struktureret men altid balanceret. Både rød- og hvidvinene har stor personlighed og et klart terroirpræg, og der eksperimenteres med både ståltanke, beton og egetræ for at give vinene den rette dybde og tekstur – uden at overdøve druerne.
